WHY ARLETTE?
With a proven track record of effective leadership, Arlette has something the City Commission desperately needs: Forward Thinking.
As a woman who has owned and managed a business herself, Arlette has an in depth understanding of financial and human resource management. Arlette served on the City Commission (CC) before….. and understands what is takes to get things done inside the city structure. While on the CC, she worked on the Land Development Code, initial Downtown Plan and the Initial Renaissance Zone Plan. After serving on the CC, she helped to establish the Arts & Culture Commission and the Downtown Neighborhood Association. Her leadership, practicality, and forward thinking has elevated both organizations to what they are today. Not only will Arlette provide a unique set of leadership experiences, but she will add gender diversity to the all male seating. The City Commission must properly represent the community which it serves. Including representation and perspective from the 50% of our population, currently missing on the City Commission, is crucial for moving Fargo Forward.
